Artist's Description
This is Sunburst Mountain in the Canadian Rockies. When I traveled here, I was looking for a new and completely unique composition that I had never seen before. I found this lake and started walking around it, and began looking for a bay that would create a curved foreground for my photo. I arrived in the middle of the day, and there were waves on the lake and no reflection. But I stayed put for the next 6 hours with the hope that the wind would die down, and the lake would smooth over, which would create a reflection of Sunburst Mountain. Sure enough, the stars came into alignment. And as the sun went down, the wind stopped, the water became smooth, and I was able to shoot this panorama image that I have never seen from any other photographers. I love this image because of the rugged, natural beauty of the mountain, the reflection, the lake, and the sky.
